Get a domain and a professional email
First 30 days: Look and act like a business. Step 9 of 24 in the new LLC launch playbook. An address like you@yourcompany.com builds trust right away. A Gmail or Outlook address makes a business look temporary, and you own a domain address even if you change email providers.
Key points:
- Buy a domain that matches your business name (ideally a .com) from a domain registrar.
- Set up email on that domain with a business email service such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
- Create role addresses like info@ or billing@ so the business still works as it grows.
- Ask your provider to help set up the email security records (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) so your messages don't land in spam.
Cost: Low monthly fee. Example: jane@janesplumbing.com.
